Large high-capacity auger

All 600X Series Cutting Platforms feature a large, 660-mm (26-in.) auger tube with deep auger flights to handle large amounts of crop. This design provides a very big area under the auger to aggressively feed large volumes of crop material.

All augers are equipped with retractable auger fingers over the full width of the auger. Auger fingers are designed for quick replacement and mounted with a finger retainer. Auger finger retainers prevent broken fingers from being moved into the combine, minimizing the potential damage caused by rock sand or other obstructions.

Split auger to keep high performance over full cutting widths (feeding).

Up to 9.15 m (30-ft), this auger will stay as one single auger for the current 600R Platform. For the 10.70-m (35-ft) and 12.1-m (40-ft) platforms, a central auger bearing will be used to allow harvesting in high-yielding conditions with maximum feeding capacity.

Wear-resistant auger

In addition to the conventional auger configuration, it is possible to choose a wear-resistant auger, which is recommended for harvesting rice. Therefore, the auger flights are reinforced to grant maximum wear life. Future availability.

Versatility:

• The table is seamless adjustable without any inserts or other loose parts. The conversion from
  small grain to rape seed and vice versa is done in 5 minutes and requires no tools. To grant the 5 minutes full conversion time the table can be positioned in any range without any inserts. The operation is done from the cab. The travel of the table over the full 800-mm (31.5-in.) adjustment range takes less than 30 seconds.

Performance:

• Longest extendable table (knife) in market (1200 mm [47.2 in.]) Being able to extend the table further than competitors we can offer lower header losses in all crops among all extendable table platforms. It is important that the header moves past the reel when harvesting oil seed to reduce pre harvest losses and increase the profit per hectare of the producer.

Integration:

• Intelligent software on the combine (base from model year 2014, available through DTAC on older models) allows the operator to enter plant height and desired stubble height in the armrest display. This data, together with the entered amount of crop harvested, allows the combine to make a pre-set of the cutting table for optimized operation. This default value can also be an overwritten with the rocker switch on the advanced hydro handle. The advanced hydro handle has the additional rocker switch on the rear which is utilized to operate the table fore-aft function. The advanced hydro handle is available in the combine price pages. For existing combines it is available through aftermarket. The table position can be stored together with reel and height position on the header resume buttons.

Easy Cut II cutterbar

The 600X Header is equipped with the Schumacher Easy Cut II cutting system. This features:

• Non-clog dual knife guards that fully enclose the sections for positive, clean cutting. High-strength construction provides reliability even when using crop lifters.
• Double-cut sections alternately cut on the upper and lower edges, providing a self-cleaning effect.
• 100-mm (3-in.) sections are bolted, allowing easy replacement in the field.

A simple, convenient single-lever multicoupler on the left-hand side of the feederhouse allows the operator to connect all hydraulic and electrical header functions, and engages the latch pins in one easy step. The single-lever multicoupler saves time when moving from field to road and vice versa.

Depth and height adjustments

Another feature of the 600X Series Headers is the quick adjustability of the auger in two directions - depth and height.

This quick adjustment allows the operator to optimize the header for any crop and condition (set the auger up for harvesting rapeseed) for smoothest feeding and an optimal match for the high performance of the John Deere combines. This needs to be done manually on left- and right-hand side of the cutting platform.

Epicyclic knife-drive gearbox

Heavy-duty epicyclic knife-drive gearbox provides an enhanced knife-drive system that increases drive capacity with less vibration and improved reliability.

• 100-mm (3-in.) knife stroke adds a more efficient cutting action. The increased stroke improves the cutterbar's ability to cut even in adverse conditions, such as large-stemmed crops or weeds, without plugging.
• Knife speed is 520 rpm on both rigid and flexible platforms.
• In-line knife head oscillates in a straight line, supporting the knife head's reliability.
• Knife head and gearbox attachment is improved. Two capscrews can be easily removed if any service to the knife is required.

The heavy-duty driveline for the auger and cutterbar on the left-hand side of the cutting platform is designed for the biggest throughput and best efficiency.

The knife drive gearbox is driven by a driveshaft; the intake auger is driven by a strong chain and a slip clutch to protect the auger and driveline in case of crop plugging.

Telescoping drive shaft

The single telescopic drive shaft on the left-hand side of the platform keeps platform hookup easy and fast. The platform knife and auger are driven from a single drive shaft, which connects to a splined feederhouse drive shaft. The single telescopic drive shaft is standard configuration from 6.7 m (22 ft) up to 12.1 m (40 ft).

Knife drive

From 6.7 m (22 ft) up to 9.1 m (30 ft) there is a single-side knife drive which is located on the left-hand side and is driven by a telescopic driveshaft. On 10.7-m (35-ft) and 12.1-m (40-ft) models there is a dual-side knife drive which is also based on telescopic driveshaft and allows the synchronized operation of two cutting knives.

On all models, the drive system is protected by a heavy-duty slip clutch which is linked to the main drive pulley.

A storage bracket holds the coupler when the platform is not in use and provides clean and reliable hydraulic and electrical connections.

Control with the lateral-tilt feederhouse

The John Deere 600X Cutting Platforms has the fully integrated header control system.

This system provides automatic control of:

• Cutting platform (stubble) height
• Lateral tilt
• Platform ground pressure

The automatic-control, programmable header functions provide optimum performance and operator ease and comfort.

Up to 7.6 m (25 ft), the 600X Platform is equipped with four HeaderTrak™ sensors that follow the contour to ensure an even stubble height and minimize the risk of damaging the header in uneven terrain.

The 630X 9.15 m (30 ft) to 640X 12.1-m (40-ft) headers come with six HeaderTrak sensors. Two additional sensors to provide highest cutting quality and maximum field performance by large header sizes. HeaderTrak sensors are evenly positioned close to the knife in the table and therefore moved together with the knife. This position allows best reactivity in rolling terrain.
